Does Quetiapine Help Addicts? Trend is Positive. See the References
I am guessing, quetiapine is the number one medication on which most people out of rehabilitation get discharged. After long intervals of recovery, I have tried to take patients off it. They became agitated, disorganized, and less able to function. Most substance abusers in recovery cannot get off quetiapine, even slowly. Many function well on lower doses. After several months of recovery, some attempt should be made to slowly taper it. Most have mood swings, but it is rare to be able to make a traditional diagnosis of a mood disorder not caused by direct effect of illegal drugs on the brain.
